Within Walking Distance

Those living far away fear our wonders; where morning dawns and evening fades you call forth songs of joy. Psalm 65:8

My Bible provides a bit of clarification on this verse. It says that God’s Old Testament people primarily came from a specifically chosen ethnic group. Some outsiders joined them in their faith (like Ruth, for example), but the Israelites didn’t issue blanket invitations. Nevertheless, they recognized that God’s love extended to people over the horizon. His care for the earth, so beautifully described in this passage, called for a response everywhere, not just in Israel.

Within Walking Distance is a series which will highlight what I come across as I venture out into God’s creation. Through my photography, I will become a  witness to His splendor as well as to what we’ve done with it. These photos will represent the environment that God has placed me in – reality rather than grandeur – but instead of illustrating the mundane, I intend to make plain the Creator.
