Everyday Life: Anjeong-ri and Paengseong-Eup

Just south ofPyeontaek, South Korea are two very small towns,Anjeong-ri andPaengseong-Eup. I had a wonderful time walking in and around these towns the other day with a friend. When taking pictures, I tend to photograph closer up, from a more intimate perspective. My goal for the day was to broaden the view for family and friends back home. In this way, I hope they might gain a more detailed understanding and feel for small town life in this area. The town was cold and quiet on this day, but the morning light amplified the small town charm of the place. At any given corner, once can turn down a small alley and find the simple, but charming homes of the folk who work in the area. Unlike America, walking down small alleyways away from the public line-of-sight is quite safe, and so we took advantage of this rare opportunity, finding scenes that would otherwise have gone unnoticed.

The shops along the main street. Cars and walkers alike share this cobblestone drive. At this time of the morning all is still quiet; these businesses stay open until the wee hours of the morning.

The color of this roof was so beautiful that I had brave a wall climb to get the shot. There's almost no color retouching in this image.

I haven't seen a lot of graffiti here, but I found this tagging in a residential alleyway.
